SWIM LESSONS

Two types of classes are available in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Option 1 Eight 30-minute classes over 2 weeks
Option 2 For advanced or older swimmers who have a longer attention-span
Four 45-minute classes for one week
  • Swimming lesson FEE: $40 member/$50 non-member.
  • We offer a Sibling Special discount, for second, third, etc. child of $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
  • Morning and Afternoon Classes will be held Monday through Thursday with Friday as a rain date.
  • Evening Classes will be held Tuesday through Friday with a rain date scheduled with instructor.
  • Lessons will begin the week of June 23rd and run every week/every two weeks through August 15th.
  • We offer lessons for children, teens, young adults, and adults.
  • Each student will be reviewed prior to being placed in an age and/or ability-appropriate class (both if possible).
  • The first review nights will be on Tuesday, June 17th and Wednesday, June 18th.  Swimming lesson participants should come to the pool between 6 and 7:30 PM either night.
  • You will be contacted when we begin forming our classes.

Please indicate the swimming ability that applies to you or your child:

Bobbers - Children fearful of the water and/or unable to swim.
Floaters - Children who are NOT fearful of the water and have limited swimming skills.
Strokers - Children able to swim on their front and back on their own. Children in this class will work extensively on their front and back.
Youth 1 - Older children who are fearful of the water and/or unable to float on their front and back.
Youth 2 - Older children who are NOT fearful of the water and ARE able to swim five yards front crawl and five yards on their back.
Youth 3 - Must be able to swim 10 yards front crawl and 10 yards on back. Stroke emphasis in this class is on front crawl with rhythmic breathing and elementary backstroke.
Youth 4 - Must be able to swim 10 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing in good form and 10 yards elementary backstroke with the whip kick in good form. Stroke emphasis in this class is on front crawl with rhythmic breathing, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke.
Youth 5 - Must be able to swim in good form 25 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing, 25 yards backstroke, 10 yards elementary backstroke, 10 yards breaststroke, and 10 yards sidestroke. Stroke emphasis in this class is on sidestroke, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Adult 1 (14 years and Over) - For the adult who is fearful of the water and unable to float on front and back.
Adult 2 (14 years and Over) - For the adult who is NOT fearful of the water, able to float on both front and back and unable to swim 25 yards front crawl. Stroke emphasis in this class is on front crawl.
Adult 3 (14 Years and Over) - For the adult who is able to swim 10 yards front crawl and 10 yards on back in deep water.
Adult 4 (14 Years and Over) - For the adult who is able to swim 25 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing and 25 yards elementary backstroke with the whip kick, both in good form. Stroke emphasis in this class is on front crawl, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke.
